1.8T 20V 900HP+ Street Car – AWD20V

This Volkswagen Golf Mk2 came to us as a well-sorted car. However, the existing setup was starting to show its age, particularly in terms of available I/O, with little room left for further expansion.

To future-proof the build and allow for continued development, we upgraded the engine management. Which in turn provided significantly more flexibility, with expanded I/O capacity enabling additional sensors, enhanced control strategies, and greater freedom in how the car can be configured and refined.

It’s also a system we’ve had consistently strong results with, straightforward to work with, yet highly capable for higher power builds and advanced applications.

As part of the conversion, we updated the bulkhead connector, added wiring for additional sensors and control functions, and built a new harness to suit. We also installed a MaxxECU MDash, while retaining the existing rotary switch setup for boost control and fuel selection.

With the new system in place, the car went on the dyno for calibration. Despite some challenges with RPM pickup and wheelspin on the day, the car still produced over 900bhp.

We’ve continued to support the car at the track since, making further setup changes along the way and achieving a new personal best.
