BMW E24 ITBs & Standalone

This lovely example of an E24 came to us as a long-term non-runner, suffering from a combination of electrical faults and underlying mechanical issues that made reliable operation impossible.

Following a diagnostic process, we identified multiple problem areas and carried out a complete overhaul of the engine management and wiring.

A custom trigger kit was also installed alongside new HT leads and a fully concentrically twisted wiring loom, designed and built in-house to deliver a loom that will last for years to come. We also upgraded the battery cables due to the age and corrosion found on the existing cables.

To support the new engine management setup, we designed a bespoke IAT sensor bracket mounted directly to the ITBs, ensuring precise air temperature readings. A custom ECU mount was also produced, allowing the unit to be neatly integrated under the dashboard in the factory location.

Air leaks beneath the ITBs were identified and rectified, alongside some other existing faults.
